Bi-injection button with spring effect

CHALLENGE: Project aimed to create a tool capable of making a two materials’
button, adapting the mold to a conventional injection machine.

SOLUTION: Being of a piece of aspect, it has been guaranteed that the visible and
manageable area would remain without any imperfections. A safe manner was
studied so that upon rotation of the pieces after the first injection, they would
not suffer any displacement, ensuring thus their perfect fit in the second cavities.
The injection machine was not formerly adapted for bi-material tools. However,
the support of a hydraulic surpassed this disability.

RESULTS: Although the injection machine was not factory prepared for molds of
this type, with the introduction of a rotating shaft driven by a hydraulic, this
problem was solved. A final product that respects the rigorous standards of
quality for components of this nature was reached.
